Silver Britannia Information......

The Mintage levels are amazingly low for these beautiful coins.
Are they just under the radar, or am I missing something?

I realize that the premium more than doubles the silver content value, but they are capped at 100,000!!! Try to tell me that they are not worth it.
Most coveted CC-Morgans numbers don't compare to the Britannia raritiy!!

The 2003 is one of my all-time favorite coins.

Any thoughts?

Well, you hit on part of it when you asked if they flew under the radar, but I believe another factore is the strange (to most people anyway) silver content in each coin. They aren't .999 pure and they aren't sterling - they are Britannia silver (hence the name).

I have collected every year simply because they are my favorite coin, the premium sucks, but as you say the mintage is extremely low. The hesitation I have with buying more of these is simply that the demand for these coins seem to be a lot less than others, but, I have no intention of selling mine for years to come, so for a long term investment I figure they could do quite well.

I guess that is the problem I'm having.....
For the life of me, I cannot understand why the demand is less.
All factors considered....it makes absolutly no sense.

They are a beautiful coin so I have always been at a loss as far as interest is concerned too. But I assume as the earlier years slowly become rarer, interest and value will start going up. I am a bit stumped myself other than the premium being to high for what most are willing to pay, I paid the same price several years ago, (about $25 to $27 a piece) as they are listed now, and thats when silver was at $7 or 8, so I am guessing thats the largest factor.

Are they actually 1 oz silver? So bigger than a maple say? (excuse ignorance)

I just snagged the 10 years of these coins in a Dansco album for $277.70 from a "Buy it Now" listing on eBay. Haven't received them yet. I figured at $27.70/each, I was getting an OK deal, as I have seen these as high as $35-38/each elsewhere.

I'm hooked, too. Great looking coins. I'll hang onto these for a good long time.

"Britannia Silver" is .958 fine. Although beautiful, I hear people say they don't want more than 1 because they aren't three or four-nine silver.

I like them, too. I only buy one of each, though, mostly owing to the high premium.
